Help The Needs

Today was a happy day for me. Never been so excited before. Being lucky, being helpful, being enjoyable; all came at the same time.

Thanks to Lemon Skin, if I were not waiting for him and watched for the premiering of Battle: Los Angeles, perhaps I would not be experiencing free tickets for MAXX screens. Together with his friend I knew today, Cjay from Petaling Jaya, we bought the tickets together. We were quitle slow at purchasing as we were choosing the seats. All 555 seats were vacant at 1pm but was 80% full at 4pm. The staff, while waiting for us, kept taking with his friend beside. We paid RM11 separately and pushed to him. After printing the tickets, he kept talking and pushed back all the money with tickets for me. I showed a "strange" face to him, still he kept talking. Finally, I did not care and all of us got back our own respective RM11 - Watching free for the first time for 2D movie. I would want to conclude that, I always watched disaster movie with the cheapest price. The last time was 2012 from Roland Emmerich with only RM5.

Let's me post my review here on this movie. Battle: Los Angeles/ World Invasion: Battle LA was the first action blockbuster sci-fiction movie in 2011. As this was an alien invasion disaster movie, I did not put much expectation on it, but still anticipated for it. The first impression on this movie - the trailer was awesome. The second impression on this movie - Columbia Picture/ Sony (Same as 2012) meaning great effects. The third impression on this movie - Soundtracks from Brian Tyler, amazing. The forth impression on this movie - Best opening day gross for 2011 movie. All of these had added marks to this movie which all critics gave a negative reviews. When the movie started, it was the same style as 2012, whereby soundtrack already started with the appearance of Columbia Pictures symbol and continued with the story, 24 hours after the disaster. At this moment, all the patrons had already given full concentration till the end, and I, had given the movie 9/10. When the movie flashed back to before 24 hours, I downgraded it to 8.5/10 due to the shaking of the scenes. It might be logic if it was a war scene (starting from min 10 - the end of movie) but I was still wondering why the director still shook the screen even when it was a meeting scene in the office. The whole movie was the same as previous film of Steven Spielberg's Eagle Eye, with 116 minutes of actions and wars scenes, that made you "high" from beginning till the end. Since it was a disaster movie, it would certainly drive everyone emotionally. With the darkness and scary part of alien murdering human, I was anxious whether the marine soldier will meet with anyone of it when the scene turned into a marine soldier spotting alone for alien. With the sacrifice and losing the love one, I was feeling sad. With the braveness and strength of the marine soldiers, I was really moved. It would really drive one crazy if the movie scenes were occurring in real life. The movie was almost perfect with the arrangement of suitable soundtracks composed by Brian Tyler. Eventually when the marine was going to success, it appeared another big alien which I thought it was in the trailer, but finally at the end, I found out that it was the space ship. As such, I concluded that the ending was smart enough for not claiming the large ship as alien, or else it would certainly ruined the whole movie. Using the theory of laser, the ship, which was the main control center of all the aliens, was destroyed by the last bomb. It was the last 3 minutes of the movie, and by that time, patrons' feeling were going happy for them as well. Another plus for the movie, the design of the aliens were pretty nice and more to robotic style, not like human flesh style. Comparing to Skyline, the latter was a shit. Comparing to Roland's Independence Day, there were actually common ideas there, making the plot actually not so original. Overall, I was satisfied, especially the feeling that the movie brought, and also it delivered what it promised - a war film.

Next, I was wondering whether Lemon Skin brought the luck for me, I managed to buy 2 Jefferson jeans with RM100 (Ori: RM 279.80). This company never sold so cheap before. Considering that good luck should be shared, I also donated RM2 for an old abandoned lady sitting on the bridge connecting Sungai Wang and Lot 10. Even though it was only RM2, it was the largest amount I could see in the cup and it was the only two money notes with all the remains were coins. It was surprising to got free movie tickets, it was excited to watch a great film, it was enjoyable to buy 2 branded trousers with cheaper rates, BUT IT WAS THE GREATEST HAPPINESS to help the needs.  Even though it was not something big, you would feel happy for the whole day, because you help, and help with your true heart; as what was done by those marine in Battle LA, civilian at first.
