Just finished watching Toy Story 3 at GSC. Well, it is well suitable to be written by English. I think this movie is the best summer cartoon ever. Best is not the most major thing I would like to discuss, but the messages that this movie would like to pass to us. From Toy Story 3, I learn 5 MAIN MESSAGES:
1. As a human, sometimes we need to listen to people advice. Cowboy tries to convince his friends that Sunnyside is not a good place, but all of his friends do not want to listen to him. They want to enjoy new lifestyle. However, they find out that it is actually a place of prison, controlled by Lotso. If they could have listen to Cowboy, would this happen?
2. Do not judge a book from its cover. At first, everyone thinks that Lotso is a nice and cute old bear with strawberry smell. They think that they will be leading a colourful life at Sunnyside. At the end, Lotso is the actual villain who actually wants to control all the toys, having know what he has been suffering with.
3. Good friends will help and support each other. Cowboy sacrifices his life with Bonnie, with his courage, he manages to save all of his friends, including Lotso, but Lotso pays nothing back.
4. Misunderstanding is easy to happen, but no matter how serious it is, everything will solve and nothing is impossible, only time is needed. Sometimes, what we see is not the truth. Cowboy knows that Andy does not want to throw Jessie and the others, but they do not believe in what he says. By hearing that Andy says they are rubbish, and accidentally, they are thrown by Andy's mother (As she thought Andy wants to throw it but Andy wants to keep it actually), Jessie and the others confirm Andy would want to abandon them. At the end, through Mrs. Potato's eye, they finally realise that they have misunderstood Cowboy.
5. Learn to appreciate, although we might need to let it off. Andy realises that those toys are meaningful, very meaningful to him. He plays with them and they has been accompanying him to grow up. Others may not understand, but he understand most. He has now grown up, and it is time for him to pass those toys to Bonnie. As he appreciates them, like Cowboy appreciating his friends, he has found a best new owner for his toys.
Time is precious. So remember to appreciate, and appreciate. Nothing is impossible. Misunderstanding may occur, but it is the chance for us learning to grow up.
